Health Guarantee

1. The Happy Puppy Co guarantees that your puppy is in good health, and has had proper care to date of release to you, the new owner. Puppy has received its first three rounds of shots and has been dewormed. Health records can be found on the Health Record Card, which you will receive when you pick up your puppy. Our parent dogs have been DNA tested and are cleared of genetic disorders.

2. The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined within 5 business days of purchase by a licensed veterinarian, and mail or email the examination results to us to validate this guarantee. If the puppy is found to be at risk due to a congenital defect (existing at birth), please notify us and provide a written statement from a licensed vet describing the puppy's condition. You then have the option of returning the puppy to the seller, at buyer's cost, for a full refund; the puppy will be replaced by a puppy of equal value; or you can keep the puppy, and be refunded up to half of the value of the puppy.

 

3. The Happy Puppy Co has the right to require a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice at our expense. If the puppy is euthanized or in any way disposed of, without a second opinion from our veterinarian, the buyer waives all rights to a replacement puppy or refund of any amount.

 

4. If the puppy should die from a suspected congenital defect within the 24 months of its date of purchase, an autopsy must be performed at the buyer's expense by a licensed veterinarian. If the autopsy shows a congenital defect as the reason of death, and provides a written statement from the performing veterinarian, the seller will provide another puppy to the buyer.

 

 

5. In addition to the general health guarantee described above, The Happy Puppy Co provides a two year hip and elbow guarantee on any puppy found to have severe hip/elbow dysplasia. The puppy must have an x-ray from your vet to confirm the diagnosis and must be documented by the OFA foundation and the results be sent to our vet. If your puppy is diagnosed by OFA to have severe dysplasia, the puppy will be replaced by a puppy of equal value, or the buyer will keep the puppy and the breeder will refund up to half the purchase price. (excluding any/all additional expenses travel, shipping, vet supplies and veterinarian costs)

 

6. This warranty is not transferable, and does not include viral illnesses, infections, improper bites, hernias, hypoglycemia, Guardia or Coccidiosis. It also does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals or physical injury.

The Following 1-6 Will Void All Guarantees:

 

1. Allowing your dog to become obese or severely underfed at any time.

2. Evidence of neglect or abuse.

3. Previous related trauma (broken bones, related injuries, etc.)

4. Breeding your dog

5. Feeding your dog anything other than a premium quality dog food.

6. Evidence of Strenuous Exercise – for example: No treadmill, no extensive standing on back legs or excessive tennis ball chasing and retrieving should be done – especially on slippery floors.

 

 

Buyer's Responsibility:

1. The buyer bears all costs relating to the sale of the above animal, including transportation. The risk of loss or injury to your puppy is on the buyer at all times after the puppy leaves the seller.

2. Buyer agrees that Seller is not responsible for any harm the puppy may do to property or individuals, including but not limited to, biting, scratching, spreading of any sickness or disease (including humans).

3. Buyer agrees that the puppy is not being purchased for resale and will never be sold to a pet shop, puppy mill or agent of the same. If for any reason you cannot keep your puppy, or become unable to care for it or find it a good home, it must be returned to The Happy Puppy Co. Buyer agrees to never place the puppy in a shelter, pound, or similar facility or research laboratory. Seller will not issue a refund or provide another dog to the buyer in this case.

4. Buyer and Seller agree that the Dog is being sold with no warranties made by The Happy Puppy Co unless otherwise stated in this Agreement.
